David E Walker 1810-1838

Birthplace-Putnam County, GA

Spouse: Never Married, No children

The youngest son of Rich Billy and Mary V. Walker, he was only 28 at the time of his demise but already well situated in the family business. Known to breed pedigreed horses on his plantation situation close to his father.

David E. Walker was indicted for the murder of Ransom Narrimore in 1833. He fled to Texas until he turned himself in. Family lore claim the murder was in self-defense after a fight about politics.

At his death in 1838 he 29 enslaved people are found listed on his estate records. Because he had no heirs, his estate was sold on the 1 Tuesday in January 1839 at public auction. The sadness and fear of being sold away from your family must have darkened the souls of the enslaved. We honor them here.
